PRP Treatment

Our blood is alive liquid continually moving in our vessels. This liquid conisits of plasma and cells. Plasma consists mostly of water. 5-6 Liters blood exist in a person weighing 70 kg. 50-60 % of the blood liquid is plasma. The other 40-50 % consists of cells. Platelets are the smallest seedless cells of blood. Their main function is to provide clotting. This process starts as a result of contacting of blood leaked from cut or slitted vessel with outside. So, when a place of our body is cut platelets of leaked blood interrupt bleeding and form a protecting layer on the wound. This layer also plays important role in healing wound. In the period of 1-2 weeks platelets form new tissues on the place of wound. When crusts on wound fall down we can see the new skin formed bellow. This strength of platelets is being used in many areas in medicine. The purpose of PRP is to create strong platelets and more effective treatment. This new technology is used in America very commonly in recent years.

European countries and also Turkey have been using this technology for a shorter period of time. This treatment method is approved by FDA. This treating power of blood is used in many fields. 100 – 150 cc of our blood (one tea glass) is extracted and centrifuged. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is being devided and injected to the required area. Thus, growth factor activating area cells by secretion and root cells move. New cells increase collagen syntheses and heal tissue.
