Chin Surgery is an operation applied according to long or short jaw problems. Generally it is made together with face lift and rhinoplasty. Jaw can be extended by using prosthesis or if the jaw is long one bone is removed from it. The implants used are Medpor. No scar remains after the operation because the fat or bone are removed from the inside of the mouth. To remove fats bellow the jaw aesthetic jaw operations are combined with liposuction.

- Your anamnesis about drug allergies, medications used, the previous operation story should be determined.
It lasts 30 minutes – 2 hours.
Side effects and risks:
Temporary cyanosis and swelling may occur. Tension on the skin, chewing and speech difficulties may arise. Feeding with fluids is recommended during 3-4 days.
A patient can turn back to work after 5-6 days.
Turning back to sport and full activity is recommended after 1 month. Overactivities should be avoided during 1 week.
Procedure and anesthesia
The procedure is performed with sedation under local or general anesthesia.
Chin implants are permanent. If patient’s own bone or fat is used as an implant the body absorbs a portion and revision may be required.
